A couple weekends ago, I participated in a neighborhood flea market and offered portraits shot on 35mm film double-exposed with florals. (See my previous post, She’s in Bloom, for more on this technique.) The portraits didn’t work out—I didn’t use enough light and need to reshoot most of them. But I took the remainder of the film to the beach a couple days later, and shot these Barbie portraits. I also shot some other film that day, of the Barbies and the sunrise and some hopeful surfers attempting to ride a flat sea.
More of that to come, but in the meantime, my summer-long exploration of Barbie as subject continues.
